My teaching style can be categorized as progressive, research-based and highly responsive to student need. I have experimented with Project Based Teaching, integration, cross-grade and education technology in different ways. If something doesn’t work, I change it until it does. Student success in my classroom has been indicated through traditional and non-traditional assessment methods such as making functional rockets, successful Science Fair projects and huge improvements in PAT results (Math and LA) and through students wanting to be at school, learning.

I am very knowledgeable about the content I’m teaching as well as how to teach competencies such as creativity and critical thinking. I also have expertise in brain-based learning and utilize a variety of teaching strategies. My ability to think systematically while tracking progress and considering data makes me a highly effective teacher.

I have high expectations for my students and maintain a positive, inclusive, and welcoming learning environment through excellent classroom management.
